First of all, save the running config, screenshot the number of APs, then download a backup of the WLC
1 - download image to controller (GUI)
2 - config boot image (GUI - primary, obviously you'll have to select your image)
3 - SSH on the Wlc and confirm step 2 with - show boot
4 - config ap image predownload primary all
5 - show ap image all
6 - when step 4 is done, then config ap image swap all
7 - check if HA between PG and PC is still OK - show redundancy summary
8 - reset system in 00:01:30 image no-swap reset-aps save-config
then check all the APs joined the WLC and see if users are associating
